Top Tips for a Greener Wedding

  • Use biodegradable confetti - Trafford Hall can source suppliers of naturally dried organic rose petals which make beautiful, eco-friendly confetti. Alternatively why not make your own from rice paper which is edible and can be shaped or coloured to match your theme?
  • Wear vintage - to ensure that your dress is truly one of a kind and to save you money, make use of old garments and fabrics which are free from manufactured synthetics.
  • Make your own invites and name cards from recycled materials- this will help you to reduce costs and add a personal touch.
  • Arrange your own flowers - use locally grown, seasonal flowers, thus reducing transport costs and use of pesticides.
  • Cut down on transport between venues - Trafford Hall is licensed for civil ceremonies and can also cater for your reception which means that you can cut out the journey between the registry office and reception venue.
  • Have your honeymoon closer to home - cut down on harmful carbon emissions caused by flying away to far flung destinations. Alternatively Trafford Hall can plant commemorative trees to offset your flight's fuel emissions.
  • Support local suppliers and reduce pollution caused by transport- Trafford Hall has its very own organically managed kitchen garden and attempts to use locally farmed produce where possible.
  • Recycle! Think of all the packaging and empty bottles your wedding is going to generate. The majority of hotels will throw this away - Trafford Hall makes every attempt to recycle paper, card, glass and food waste where possible.
  • Have an organic wedding cake. Trafford Hall can help source this for you.
